Join Friends of Suaram (FOS)

‘Friends of SUARAM’ (FOS) is an opportunity for concerned citizens to contribute positively towards upholding human rights. FOS can volunteer in assisting our staff as well as spearhead human rights campaigns. FOS also needed in local documentation and monitoring work, fundraising, research, publications and legal and organising work.

Anyone who believes in upholding human rights can be a FOS, all it takes is a bit of time, initiative and commitment. When you sign up as a volunteer, not only will you be pro-actively help to promote and protect human rights in Malaysia, you will be joining a global movement for human rights.

For those who are unable to give time but feel the necessity to improve human rights in Malaysia, sponsoring SUARAM is a worthy investment. Donations from FOS will assist SUARAM in meeting the costs of its projects, publications, training and campaign work.

We need to enhance respect for human rights. This includes the right to express oneself; the right to form associations; the right to organise; the rights of students; press freedom; independence of the judiciary; freedom from police harassment; environmental protection; the right to food, shelter, health and education.

Standing up for human rights, be it your own, a friend’s, our communities’, our society’s or all peoples in other countries, will mean a better and brighter future for all.
