Suara Rakyat Malaysia (SUARAM), a non-governmental and non-profit organization working towards protection and promotion of human rights, is looking for an experienced and dynamic candidate with strong dedication and passion for defending human rights for its Petaling Jaya office for the following position:-

Suara Rakyat Malaysia (SUARAM) is looking for a committed and energetic candidate to fill the position of Documentation and Monitoring Coordinator.
Job Description for Documentation and Monitoring Coordinator
1. Plan, implement and coordinate the area of work of documentation and monitoring
2. Monitor human rights issues and violations and update our database and websites
3. Monitor human rights issues in newspaper and keep in important paper cuttings
4. Monitor and keep news on SUARAM
5. Write the executive summary of annual human rights report and the full report
6. Plan, execute and coordinate the launch of the annual human rights report
7. Conduct other thematic research projects or fact finding mission when necessary
8. Write press statements, position papers and submissions for the organization
9. Plan, execute and coordinate the SUARAM Annual Human Rights Award
10. Help in lobby and campaign
11. Represent the organization in attending conferences, meeting, forums
12. Work closely with local NGOs and SUARAM’s international partners in the campaign
13. Work closely with other staff in organization in order to be more effectively and efficiently
14. Report your work progress to the Executive Director from time to time
15. Report your work progress in the weekly staff meeting
16. Report your work progress in the monthly secretariat meeting
17. Evaluate your work in the end of the year and come out with evaluation report and recommendations for improvement
18. Support other staff in their program when necessary
19. Implement activities as requested by the Executive Director
Qualifications and Criteria:
1. Bachelor’s Degree
2. Committed to human rights work
3. Good inter-personal communication skills
4. Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia
5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office
6. Experience and/or knowledge in report writing
7. Able to work independently and in a team effectively
