9 DECEMBER STOP STATE VIOLENCE RALLY POSTPONED

The Stop State Violence Coalition has decided to postpone the planned 9 December rally at Dataran Merdeka further notice. The coalition deems it is necessary to take more time to create public awareness on the seven demands through its roadshow and mobilize a more effective public event.

The roadshow has organized programs and public forum in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Penang and Klang. We hope to get the message out to wider audience and have roadshows in more places in the coming few months.

The issue is also gaining momentum as we see more reports of state violence in recent deaths in custody and the rape of a migrant women by three policemen in Penang.

Please keep the momentum with helping us to organize similar programs in your area/community as well monitoring and reporting of events or cases of state violence. Please contact Ng ( 012-2658448) or Theva ( 013-3845740) for more information.
